Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Opens Applications for Adult Use Cannabis Dispensary

On Tuesday, the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation posted the application for the first round of Conditional Marijuana Dispensing licenses. Applications for the licenses will be accepted between December 10th, 2019 and January 2nd, 2020. The Department plans to issue up to 75 new dispensing licenses by May 1st, 2020.
To apply, applicants must fill out the Department’s packet, pay the $5,000 application fee, and deliver the completed application to the Department in person. The application fee for social equity applicants is $2,500. If a conditional license is awarded, the applicant will have up to 180 days to find a location in its district to open a marijuana dispensary.
