Illinois Department of Agriculture Opens Applications for Cannabis Craft Grower Licenses

On Tuesday, the Illinois Department of Agriculture posted the applications for the first round of Conditional Adult Use Cannabis Craft Grower, Infuser and Transporter licenses. Applications for the licenses will be accepted between February 14th, 2020 and March 16th, 2020. Under the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (410 ILCS 705) which became effective on January 1st, 2020, the Department of Agriculture must issue at least 40 new licenses.
To apply, applicants must fill out the Department of Agriculture’s packet, pay the $5,000 application fee, and deliver the completed application to the Department of Agriculture in person. The application fee for social equity applicants is $2,500.
